Dacia gives away hot water bottles in the latest BMW troll

The UK office of Dacia decided to remind us all that subscription-based services in cars are alien to its philosophy. The company produced a small batch of hot water bottles to give them away to drivers who would like to sit on something warm.

The whole promotional event is an obvious jab at BMW, which offered heated seats as a subscription-based paid option for its cars last year. In contrast, the Heated Seat Saviour is free and can be refilled with hot water according to the included manual to pre-warm the seat(s) before driving out in cold.

Only 75 bottles were made. Dealerships in London, Manchester and Swansea will begin giving them away on February 1–2, 2023. Since each dealership will only stock 25 bottles and will give them away upon a simple request, we would imagine them vanishing very soon.

To further drive the point home (on a warm seat), Dacia emphasized that the top trim levels of its affordable Duster, Jogger and Sandero Stepway models come with heated seats already included as standard, no post-purchase fees required.
