Electric Piëch GT hits the test track

Shortly after Piëch Automotive unveiled its Mark Zero Concept at the GIMS-2019, the electric coupe faded out of public attention for a while. It is making its comeback now with some pre-production tests.

The car is called ‘Piëch GT’ now. Tests will continue in 2022 and 2023, and production should begin in 2024. It remains open where Piëch Automotive will assemble it, though, because it does not have any factories of its own, nor does it plan on building any. The planned production quantity is 1,200 units spread across Europe, China and the United States.

Triple electric motors rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) each propel the car forward powered by a 75-kWh traction battery rated for 500 km (310 miles) of range. Going from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes a sluggish nine seconds at this time.

As a side note, company founder Anton Piëch is a great-grandson of Ferdinand Porsche.
