Mercedes-Benz Vito goes camping in the USA

Mercedes-Benz is selling its Vito minivan model as the Metris in the United States, offering it in a number of passenger and commercial versions. Starting this week, a campervan version joins the list at a $26,400 premium over the entry spec.

The Metris Getaway boasts front seats that can be turned around to face the rest of the cabin, a rear sofa that you can unfold into a bed, a table, a ceiling that you can raise and turn into a sleeping area, and an extra battery.

The optional equipment list mentions a second tent, anti-mosquito nets, an advanced sat-nav system, a side tent, a roof box, a kitchenette, solar panels and a 38mm (1.5”) suspension lift.
