2021 Hyundai Tucson spied on a racetrack

The third instalment in the Hyundai Tucson series came out in 2015 and received a mild cosmetic refresh last year. Now, it looks like the Korean carmaker is busy testing the next generation – and will likely introduce it in mid-2020.

Despite the serious camo wrap, some conclusions can still be drawn based on the photos. For one, the car sports a ‘hovering’ roof design, more distinctly sculpted sides, Santa Fe-style two-tier headlights, and an intricately shaped front grille.

The new Tucson will certainly benefit from a wider range of options and a revised engine lineup. It will probably ship in a PHEV version as well, and a top-specced Tucson N is likely to emerge at a later date. The current generation of the SUV does not have the N performance version. Instead, customers may opt for the N-line Package, which brings only stylistic changes.
