BMW launches an M2 Track Kit worth nearly $28k

With the M Performance Track Kit installed, the latest BMW M2 gets active aerodynamic parts, adjustable suspension and a lightweight exhaust system but keeps its engine output stock.

For €23,500 in Europe – roughly $27,700 in U.S. dollars – buyers get a swan-neck rear wing like the one found on the track-only M4 GT3 and GT4 models. It has two main positions and features an adjustable attack angle. In Germany, regulations require it to be manually set to “Street” mode before driving out on a public road.

Aside from the wing, the kit includes an adjustable front splitter and a rear diffuser. As for the front bumper, it gets side canards and an improved air scoop for engine cooling.

The suspension gets rebuilt on coilovers that let you adjust the ground clearance on a per-axle basis within the range of 40 mm (1.6 inches). Track-ready tires are listed as optional, and the same goes for a lightweight exhaust system available with titanium and carbon-fiber finisher tips. Both options drop the curb weight by about eight kilograms, or 17 pounds.

The most affordable exhaust system is listed at €8,343 (~$9,800) on top of the kit price mentioned above. The rest of the prices need clarifying with BMW.
