YouTuber Sam CarLegion has conducted a comparative test of three same-class vehicles, pitting a BMW M3 Competition up against its younger sibling – the M340i – and a sported-up 2018 Audi S4.
All three cars underwent some tuning and ended up with 500+ metric horsepower. Specifically, the senior M3 is said to be capable of 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) or so, while the Audi inches out a narrow advantage with 534 PS (527 hp / 393 kW). The M340i is said to be slightly less powerful than the two, but only slightly.
Two rolling races were attempted from the second gear (50 km/h, or 31 mph). The gaps between the cars never exceeded half a second, so it was indeed a very close match. But how did the trio line up at the finish? Check out the video!
