An unusual and performance-packed variant of the BMW M8 has recently been discovered outside of a test track. Let’s have a closer look at the high-quality spy photos.
We cannot claim with certainty that the car is a CSL, but there are certain markers in place to support this theory. First, there is a Vision M Next-inspired radiator grille encased in a carbon fiber bezel and sporting red niches.
Second, unlike the regular M8 shown in the video, the prototype has unique front fender intakes, a carbon-fiber air splitter, and lightweight wheels with performance brakes. The roof is also made of the light and durable carbon, and there are air vents where the rear window usually is.
Moving on to the rear, there is a massive rear wing and a diffuser with a Formula-style brake light on it.
The BMW M subdivision celebrates 50 years next year, and we expect the M8 CSL to debut in time for the anniversary.
