One of Bugatti’s rarest Chiron editions reveals itself, tentatively

Bugatti has already met the production quota for its Chiron hypercar, but assorted special editions just keep coming. One of them is this bespoke Chiron Super Sport finished in a purpose-created new color called Vert Jade.

The off-green hue goes along with black trim bits and a darkened radiator grille sporting vertical bars – not something you’d usually see on a Bugatti. Other than that, the luxury car seems hesitant to show itself in its full glory – and this isn’t the first time we are getting such partial shots from Bugatti, either. Oh well.

As for the interior, it is wrapped in tangerine leather with polished aluminum and carbon-fiber accents all around. The seats sport the company’s signature stitching patterns, and the door panels are adorned with hand-braided leather straps. The embroidery on the headrests depicts a rearing elephant, paying homage to the famous sculpture by Rembrandt Bugatti. The French automaker has been putting this image on its cars and accessories from time to time.

Things apparently stay stock under the hood. This isn’t a bad thing, considering that there is an eight-liter W16 hitting the wheels with 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW) and 1,600 Nm (1,180 lb-ft) of torque. As a Super Sport model, the car is electronically capped at 380 km/h (236 mph).
