The Chevrolet Groove is a rebadged Baojun 510 for Chile

Chinese automaker Baojun rebadged its crossover SUV model 530 as the second-gen Chevrolet Captiva a few years ago, and today, the model 510 becomes known as the Chevrolet Groove. Other than the front grille and the logos all around, it is exactly the same China-made soft-roader, and you can already buy it in Chile.

The Groove depends on a 110-hp (82-kW), 147-Nm (108lb-ft) engine to propel it forward in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission. Standard features include air conditioning, cruise control, four airbags, ABS, stability control, LED-based DRLs and taillights, roof rails, a rear parking sensor and a reversing camera. The cabin comes trimmed with fabric, the steering wheel has multiple function buttons, and the infotainment system commands an eight-inch display and four audio speakers. The wheels measure 16 inches across, and the tailgate is electric.

The top trim brings along climate control, LED headlights, tire pressure control, keyless entry, engine start button, and imitation leather upholstery.

The Chevrolet Groove will later enter other markets in Latin America, Middle East and Africa. Baojun expects to produce 10,000 units per year.

The original Baojun 510 is a front-wheel-drive crossover that has been around in China for three and a half years. It is 4,220 mm long, 1,740 mm wide and 1,615 mm tall with 2,550 mm separating the axles. It uses a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and either manual or CVT for transmission. Color choices include blue, orange, red, grey and white.
