$0.4M turns a Chevy Blazer into a posh convertible pickup

Mecum will attempt to find a buyer for an exclusive restomod of a 1971 Chevrolet Blazer later today, expecting up to $420,000 for the fully restored and overhauled vehicle.

In fact, only a few panels stay stock, while the chassis, the engine and the interior are brand new. A peek under the hood reveals a supercharged LT4 V8 sourced from a modern Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. It pumps out 677 PS (668 hp / 498 kW) to the wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission and doesn’t overheat too much thanks to a custom raised and vented hood.

The eye-catching exterior owes its charm to Arancio California, a yellowish orange color sourced from the Lamborghini catalog. It is complemented by a set of 22-inch rose-gold wheels with Wilwood performance brakes seen behind the spokes. AccuAir suspension allows for a millimeter-precise ride height adjustment.

As impressive as the car is on the whole, the interior is arguably the piece de resistance. Retrimmed from the ground up with quality leather and colorful textile, it features a properly integrated digital dashboard and a modern infotainment system plugged into a JL Audio/Alpine audio setup. Well-appointed retro styling makes sure neither sticks out.
