You can find a reasonably preserved Chevrolet C6 Corvette on the U.S. used car market for little more than $20,000, but this stylized example being offered on the Car Gurus website will set you back an eye-watering $94,991. What’s the appeal?
Apparently, most of it comes in the shape of an over-the-top body kit designed by Valarra. It replaces the car’s entire bodywork with custom panels, adding a clownishly oversized splitter to the front, enlarging the air vents beyond all common sense and slimming down the lights all around.
Underpinning the build are forged wheels with a five-Y-spoke pattern and a two-tone finish. The rear end continues the theme with a massive rear wing and a diffuser to match.
The listing fails to mention any powertrain upgrades, so chances are good that the sports car still relies on its 6.2-liter, naturally aspirated LS3 V8 to deliver up to 435 PS (429 hp / 320 kW) to the wheels. That said, it’s 17 years old and has over 127,500 kilometers (77,500 miles) of use on it, so those numbers might be a tad too optimistic.
This isn’t the first time this Vallara C6 crops up on sale. It did so twice last year, with the bidding reaching $63,475 and the seller changing their mind about the sale. One has to wonder how it fares with that near-95k USD asking price.
Speaking of which: how much would you give for a ‘Vette like this?
