Exlantix ES gets an extra 150 km of range heading into 2026

Chery is getting ready to launch a long-range variant of its Exlantix ES sedan (see video) on the domestic market. According to CarNewsChina, a new battery will enable the car to output 860 km (534 miles) of range per charge, up from the current best version’s 710 km (441 miles).

These numbers come from the mandatory patent application preceding the launch. The new battery is specified with 97.682 kilowatt-hours of capacity. The spec sheet points out that the actual range is determined by other factors as well, including your chosen trim and wheel diameter, but doesn’t drop below 835 km (518 miles) in any case.

Right now, the Exlantix ES is obtainable with two battery options. The RWD version packs 77 kilowatt-hours and gets 705 km (438 miles) according to the current Chinese range measurement standard. The dual-motor AWD variant benefits from a larger 100-kWh battery, but delivers the aforementioned 710 km per charge due to higher power consumption.

Interestingly, the new range numbers are specified for both the RWD and the AWD version of the sedan, so it looks like the new battery may become standard for the entire Exlantix ES lineup. Just when it may happen and how much the prices will be affected is unknown. The current generation starts from 189,900 Yuan and reaches 269,800 Yuan in the top trim. With only 557 sales in September, it’s not a particularly profitable car for Chery.
