Back to the Roots: 2026 Fiat 600 gets a gas-only version

After reporting multi-billion losses from ill-conceived electrification plans, Stellantis has been gradually bringing hybrids and even traditional ICE cars back in the showrooms. The latest example is the Fiat 600, which will soon go on sale in Europe with a non-electrified 1.2-liter engine and six-speed manual.

The engine is known as the Turbo 100 and marketed as “next-gen”. However, a closer look reveals that it is largely identical to the old 1.2-liter PureTech three-cylinder mill. Like its predecessor, it bundles with a six-speed manual transmission and sends just 101 PS (100 hp / 75 kW) to the wheels.

Paying a premium lets you dress the CUV out in Street styling options. These include blackout trim bits and badges, a contrast roof in the same color, special 18-inch wheels and all-black interior trim. No more than 2,000 Street packages will be made available, Fiat says.

On its domestic market of Italy, the current Fiat 600 starts from €25,850 if you want a hybrid or €31,750 if looking for an EV. The new petrol-only version should prove cheaper than both, but all pricing details are pending.
