Ford Mustang Mach-E gets ready for a sales boost

Ford Motor Company plans to ramp up the production and sale volumes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E considerably following a major factory upgrade and a technical refresh of the electric SUV itself.

The Mach-E Standard Range now benefits from a different standard battery pack. The old and expensive NMC battery rated at 70 kilowatt-hours gets replaced with a more practical LFP one rated at a superior 72 kWh. This shortens the 10–80 percent charging time by 5 minutes 33 seconds. The official range rating is also 4 km (2.5 miles) better than before at 402 km (250 miles). The only downside is that the standard sprint time is now 6.3 seconds, down from 5.8.

In turn, the AWD Mustang Mach-E received a boost from its original 269 PS (265 hp / 198 kW) to 315 PS (311 hp / 232 kW). The torque stayed at 580 Nm (428 lb-ft). The rest of the specifications remain largely unchanged. The driving range is barely any better at 364 km (226 miles) instead of 360 km (223 mi). The sprint time has shed a tenth of a second and now makes 5.1 seconds.

The last bit of good news is that the new Mach-E costs less in the USA regardless of the spec. Depending on your chosen modification, savings compared to the pre-facelift version range from $1,000 to $4,000.
