Ford Ranger PHEV sports up for Europe

Having debuted at the IAA Mobility Expo, the new Ford Ranger MS-RT PHEV will go on preorder in late 2025 advertised as a sporty truck for asphalt roads.

The hybrid pickup uses a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and a single electric motor to send 281 PS (277 hp / 207 kW) and 697 Nm (514 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. That’s more torque than in any non-hybrid edition. An 11.8-kWh battery pack runs out of charge after just 40 km (25 miles) of all-electric driving, but you can still do it if you feel like it.

The MS-RT package also introduces new front shock absorbers and a tuned rear suspension setup that sees the ground clearance go down by 40 mm (1.6 inches) at both axles. The track becomes 40 mm (1.6 inches) wider at the same time, which necessitates new fender extensions. While at it, Ford throws a 21-inch wheel set into the deal. As a result, the MS-RT is 82 mm (3.2 inches) wider than the standard truck.

Purely visual updates boil down to a special radiator grille, a new front bumper with a splitter, a matching rear bumper with a diffuser, and a couple of spoilers mounted on the cab and at the tailgate. A peek inside reveals a different steering wheel with a zero-hour mark and sport seats with illuminated badges.
