Meet Geely Farizon FX, a bizarre Atlas Pro-based pickup for China

Geely has started selling its Farizon Remote FX model, a pickup truck with Atlas Pro underpinnings and an exterior only a mother could love.

The car leaves one wondering whether the manufacturer just took the Atlas and glued on a truck bed to its tailgate end without bothering to go for any in-depth mods. Sure, the tailgate is no longer there, and the bumpers and brake lights are new, so one could argue it’s technically a new model. That, and the rear seat row is now represented by a three-seat bank.

The drive stays on the front axle without alternatives, and it receives its thrust from a turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed DCT. The nominal power output amounts to 184 PS (181 hp / 135 kW), and the carrying capacity is as low as 540 kilos (1,190 lbs).

In its entry-level spec, the Farizon Remote FX comes equipped with 18-inch alloys and LED headlights, and starts from 119,900 Chinese Yuan. Ticking all the boxes nets you a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree cameras, and some other nice extras for 129,900 CNY total.
