Lamborghini Huracan gets turned into a cyberpunk art showpiece

To celebrate turning 60, Lamborghini has teamed up with the artist Ikeuchi to created the unique Huracan STO Time Chaser_111100. The art car comes bundled with a sculpture dubbed TimeGazer, assembled from all kinds of Lamborghini car parts.

According to the Italian supercar maker, the creation of the Japanese artist symbolizes a fusion between the cyberpunk aesthetic, futurism and robotics. Ikeuchi combines the various images of our hypothetical future with the automotive utility of today.

The numeric index 111100 stands for ’60’ in binary code – another reference to Lambo’s birthday. The Huracan itself wears a white-and-grey paint coat along with a special livery. An art object mounted at the rear end remains unexplained by the official press release. It looks a bit like a PC case with backlight parts inside resembling graphics cards.

Then there is the TimeGazer sculpture, which looks a bit like a sim rig but has no such function. It represents a supercar seat surrounded by all kinds of Lamborghini car parts mashed together in bizarre ways along with PC parts and illuminated bits of metal. In front of the seat is a two-part keyboard and a bumper of tumble switches. The overall proportions are those of a PC chassis. A closer look at the parts reveals components borrowed from such icons as the Countach, Diablo, Murcielago and Aventador.

Nothing is said regarding the purpose of the installation. Whether the artist tried to come up with a modern-day take on the Back to the Future time machine, a luxury ride worthy of the video game Cyberpunk 2077 or none of the above is entirely up to the viewer to decide.
