Mazda 2 leaves Europe

After saying goodbye to the UK, the Mazda 2 hatchback is now packing up and leaving all of Europe.

The current generation of the Japanese import car has been around for 11 years. It has received multiple refreshes, but has nonetheless grown a bit outdated. The main issue is the powertrain lineup, which has no options other than petrol and mild hybrid.

Note that there is also the Mazda 2 Hybrid, a rebadged Toyota Yaris introduced three years ago and assembled in France. While the classical Mazda 2 is set to leave Europe soon, this Hybrid model will stay.
