The legendary McLaren F1 GTR racer exists in 10 units worldwide and probably costs more than $20,000,000 at this point. However, one of the owners felt that sending it ripping through the racetrack was not enough and had the car retrofitted for public roads.
Lanzante, which handled the job, endowed the racecar with suitable lighting, rearview mirrors mounted on the front doors, and a suitable exhaust system. The six-liter V12 under the hood was allowed to stay, and still hits the six-speed sequential transmission with 609 PS (600 hp / 447 kW).
It is pointed out that the supercar sticks to its wild ways and is a challenge to drive on public roads, specially at lower speeds that its stock transmission wasn’t really optimized for.
