Mercedes-Maybach has finally started taking pre-orders for the SL 680 Monogram Series roadster it showed a year ago.
The car is technically based on the AMG SL 63. As such, it commands a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 rated at 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to all four wheels through 4Matic+ AWD and 4WS.
At the same time, the Monogram Series offers a unique exterior design, lots of added chrome accents and a softer, more comfortable ride than its mainline counterpart.
Prices in Germany start from €256,000. For comparison, the standard AMG SL 63 starts from €196,000.
