The C210 Nissan Skyline rolled off the assembly line in Japan in 1977. Back then, the Skyline badge wasn’t even associated with badass JDM rides – it simply denoted a line of reasonably fast and agile middle-class cars. Kaiser Kars imported one of these into the United States and built a beautiful restomod out of it.
The exterior was treated with the care it deserved, ending up with a slightly larger front lip, revised black bumpers and side mirror caps, and Top Secret fender flares. 15-inch Star Road Glow Road wheels slotted into the arches, and a more up-to-date suspension was installed. Overall, the tune-up turned out rather conservative by JDM standards, which some people (including us) would consider an advantage.
Interior additions included a Nardi Deep Corn, Bride bucket seats and a newer gear lever. The audio system went out of the window together with the radio to keep the weight as low as possible, and Top Secret mats were put on the floor.
Powering the restomod is a Nissan RB30 engine featuring new cylinder heads, pistons and HKS Motorsport camshafts. A five-speed manual transmission sends the standard 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW) to the rear wheels.
Kaiser Kars did not reveal any dynamic performance data. It is also unknown who ordered the project car and whether it could go on sale soon.
