Compact-sized Nissan Versa is still America’s cheapest new car

Starting from U.S. $17,190 (or $18,330 with the destination fee included), the 2025 Nissan Versa remains the most affordable new car in the United States.

The current Versa generation has been in production in Mexico for five years now. The next model year sees it get a $1,060 price hike, but it doesn’t change anything. The $16,700 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback is no longer being shipped to the USA, so while you can technically still find some leftover stock of the Mirage, it is no longer considered a “new” car and thus doesn’t qualify for the rating.
