Tesla EV buyers in the United States can now sign up for the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature for just $99/month, down from $199/mo.
Those who would like to buy out the feature in a one-time payment are still asked the full price – $12,000. The company says it hopes to get as many people interested in FSD as possible. That, however, raises the rhetorical question of why it needs to slash the pricing in the first place.
Back in March, Tesla offered all new EV buyers one month of free FSD trial. Elon Musk also re-stated that the company was eager to license FSD off to any interested third parties, but no one came forward and said they wanted it.
