Toyota Motor Company CEO Akio Toyoda has been formally reelected for the office in spite of ongoing disagreements with shareholders.
Some of them believe that Toyoda, the grandson of the company’s original founder, has been largely neglecting the EV market and overly focusing on hydrogen vehicle technology. However, with the company profits climbing worldwide – even setting an all-time high in Japan last year – Akio Toyoda firmly believes that his priorities are in the right place. He has now been elected for another few years in the office, confirming that he is not alone in his vision of the market.
