Following the announcement of the Baojun RC-5 liftback this spring, the Chinese marque adds the RC-5w estate/wagon to the family – a slightly larger, but ultimately identical car.
The wagon is 4,865 mm long (+35) and 1,485 mm tall (+27). Its width (1,806 mm) and wheelbase (2,700) remain identical to those of the liftback. Even the rear door and brake light design is the same – surely a decision dictated by cost efficiency.
In its most basic form, the car packs a seven-inch dashboard, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and an electro-mechanical handbrake. Options include adaptive cruise control, combination trims, power front seats, engine start button, and sunroof.
The engine range stays the same, which means a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine worth 99 hp (74 kW) and its turbocharged counterpart capable of 147 hp (110 kW). You can choose manual or IVT for the transmission.
Both the liftback and the wagon will reach the domestic market in August. Prices remain pending.
