Minty Fresh: BMW M3 restomod debuts in a TicTac candy wrap

Yet another BMW E30 M3 has been restored in the United States complete with an engine swap, new suspension, and a livery that sends you back to the 1990s.

The old mill made room for an S52B32 taken straight out of a U.S.-spec E36 M3. The engine choice is typical and common for such projects; the decision to crank it up to 800 horsepower (600 kilowatts) is not. According to the tuner, the boost became possible thanks to new pistons and connecting rods, as well as an intercooler that just barely fit into the frame.

A five-speed transmission borrowed from the same E36 sends the momentum to the wheels via a lightweight flywheel, a new clutch mechanism, and a different pressure plate. There is a limited-slip differential in the back, too.

Elsewhere, the restomod rides on air-cushioned suspension, benefits from a brake system upgrade, and rocks an aerodynamic body kit with a double rear wing. The one thing that truly sets it apart, however, is the full body wrap that looks like a TicTac ad.
