BMW M has declared setting a new record with its M4 CSL Coupe on the North Loop. The car lapped up the 20.8-km (12.9-mile) version of the track in 7 minutes 18.137 seconds, showing the best time in its class.
Jörg Weidinger, professional racing driver and development engineer, was able to finish 5 seconds faster than the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 saloon did back in 2019.
In earlier news, we reported that another Bavarian coupe – the M2 – completed its Nürburgring run in 7 minutes 38.706 seconds and set a new record among compact sports cars. Weidinger was driving it that time around, too.
