Netherlands-based automaker Donkervoort has shared a short teaser vid of its upcoming new roadster, hinting at extensive customization opportunities and a reveal on September 9, 2021.
There is little to be seen aside from the general outlines of the car and some of its individual elements, but there is no mistaking the similarity with the D8 model currently in production. Note especially the hood with air intakes and the round taillights.
A couple of years ago, the company showed a special edition of the D8 called the GTO-JD70, which it built to celebrate its founder’s 70th birthday. The car came equipped with the same 2.5-liter turbocharged Audi five-pot as the orders, but took advantage of a boost to 420 PS (415 hp / 309 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque.
Its rear-wheel drive system enabled it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.7 seconds and proceed to a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph). Prices began just under €200,000.
