Hennessey-tuned Ford Mustang can be yours at ~2.5 times the MSRP

Even in stock form, the latest-and-greatest Ford Mustang Dark Horse outputs 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) to the wheels from its eight cylinders and five liters of displacement. You’d think this would be plenty for any RWD muscle rocket, but Hennessey Performance wants to differ.

The upgrade is called Super Venom, adds roughly 350 horsepower (260 kilowatts) and comes in at an eye-watering $100,000 premium over the base car. It comprises a high-end supercharger, improved fuel injectors and a new fuel pump, among other things. Once tuned, the ‘Stang snaps off the start line to hit 96.6 km/h (60 miles per hour) in 3.2 seconds and completes the quarter-mile strip in 10.9 seconds – at least, according to Hennessey.

You can order one from the Texan company for $163,950 or settle for the “regular” Dark Horse spec priced just above $60,000 in the United States. You may also watch the video above for a series of races the tuner did against a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. There’s a 150-hp (112-kW) difference between the cars, and not in the Dodge’s favor, so it’s not exactly a fair matchup. The Dodge also costs way less, but hey, Hennessey’s gonna Hennessey.
