Infiniti’s latest video ad shows the upcoming QX60 SUV lugging around a trailer 6.7 meters (22 feet) long.
The automaker claims that replacing the inline-chain CVT with a nine-speed automatic gearbox enabled to improve the towing capacity by 20% compared to the current generation.
The car can now tow trailer attachments weighing up to 2,722 kilograms, or 6,000 pounds. This enables it to lug around an Airstream trailer, among other things. An important thing to note is that you will need to pay extra for improved transmission cooling, stability control tweaks, and a heavy-duty towing hook.
The new A/T will ship in tandem with the old-and-proven 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6. Despite being unified with the Nissan Pathfinder in terms of tech, the new QX60 will only support 5 drive modes instead of 7.
In earlier news, Infiniti showed us the trials its SUV went through in Arizona deserts and Alaska snows. The launch is scheduled for this spring.
