Jesko Absolut smashes through yet another record

The gas-powered Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has once again been recognized as this world’s fastest production car in existence. For its latest achievement, the coupe sprinted from zero to 400 km/h (248 mph) and braked back to zero in a record-short time.

Specifically, it only took the Jesko Absolut 25.21 seconds to complete the exercise. For comparison, the previous record holder – the Rimac Nevera R – did the same in 25.79 seconds.

It’s worth mentioning that the original Jesko set the best score in the same discipline in July 2024. It proceeded to be quickly dethroned by the Nevera R, though, so Koenigsegg decided to accept the challenge and develop a special edition called “Absolut”. It ended up with different gear ratios and ECU tweaks, including added torque control. While not necessary in general for straight-line racing, the torque control came in handy during the initial launch, eliminating the slowdown caused by the car’s ABS.

The Absolut upgrade package will soon be available for purchase for all Jesko owners worldwide. This is not to say that the base car is anything other than a monster. Running on E85 fuel, its 5.1-liter twin-turbo V8 outputs up to 1,622 PS (1,600 hp / 1,193 kW) to the rear end. Compared to the track-focused Jesko Attack, the regular version has a less extreme body kit because it prioritizes top speed and minimum drag over handling.
