The Mercedes EQS SUV gets a deluxe Maybach version

Mercedes-Maybach has come to the Shanghai Auto Show bearing its first all-electric luxury car: the EQS 680. The model will be on sale in China and North America.

For the powertrain, the sedan uses dual motors rated at 650 U.S. horsepower (478 kW) and 950 Nm (700 lb-ft) of torque. The version for China is lagging slightly behind with 639 PS (630 hp / 470 kW) at its disposal. Both can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds. The claimed driving range is 600 kilometers (373 miles) according to the strict European standard, but the actual range certification has yet to succeed.

On the outside, the EQS 680 SUV boasts its own faux grille graphics, wheels obtainable in 21-inch and 22-inch sizes, and a dual-tone paint job.

The base trim level already includes a massive Hyperscreen display spanning the entire width of the dashboard, a particularly comfortable rear right seat with a footrest, 11.6-inch displays on the front seat backs, a Burmester audio system and high-end trim materials all around.
