Suzuki Jimny cosplays yet another American SUV in Japan

Cal’s Motors, a Japanese tuning company and part of Alpine Style, has unveiled a rather endearing-looking Suzuki Jimny doing a Chevrolet K5 Blazer impression. You can find it in their catalogue listed as the Beas+ L and priced at the equivalent of U.S. $25,200, donor included.

The base vehicle is the five-door Jimny Nomade. It gets a new chromed grille, rectangular headlights with LED innards and the tuner’s own lettering on the hood. It also sports a chrome front bumper and rides on Moon Chrome wheels shod in all-terrain rubber.

A Blazer-style spare wheel cover at the rear end is pretty much the only styling touch there. The body of the show car is finished in matte black, but the company says it can be any color, like light green.

Everything stays stock from the technical standpoint, but Cal’s Motors has a suspension lift kit for those who want to maximize the likeness. The interior makes do with options like faux leather seat covers, a digital rearview mirror and an Alpine infotainment system complete with a 7-inch display and a more up-to-date audio system.

A regular Jimny Nomade will set you back around $17,900 in Japan, so the conversion takes roughly $7,300. Since the five-door SUV sells out faster in the country than Suzuki can manufacture more, you can opt for a similar treatment applied to the three-door Jimny. It will be cheaper, too – U.S. $20,700 with the donor already included. Check out the video for a brief look at that one.
