Volkswagen AG has announced the premiere date of the next-generation Golf GTI hatchback. The car will be revealed at the GIMS 2020 on March 5.
Based on the spy pics available thus far, the new generation brings along updated headlights, a bulky hood cover, large air intakes, a redesigned radiator grille, a sports exhaust system, and red brake calipers.
The performance car will also benefit from the latest MQB chassis featuring McPherson front axle suspension and multi-link suspension in the back.
According to the latest rumors, the new Golf GTI will ship with two engine options: 245 hp (183 kW) and 290 hp (216 kW). It will allegedly sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) faster than six seconds and max out at 250 km/h (155 mph).
