VW T-Roc gains more diesel power, better audio, and dark looks in three new versions

Volkswagen has expanded its T-Roc compact SUV range with three special modifications.

The Sport version ships with a range-topping 2.0-liter diesel engine rated at 190 hp (142 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). It takes advantage of a seven-speed DCT transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds and maxing out at 216 km/h (134 mph). While not nearly as impressive as the T-Roc R (2.0L, 300 hp / 224 kW, 400 Nm / 295 lb-ft, 4.8 s), this is actually comparable with the more affordable gasoline version currently on sale (2.0L, 190 hp / 142 kW, 320 Nm / 238 lb-ft, 7.2 s). Among other things, the diesel-powered SUV boasts higher fuel efficiency, only consuming 5.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers traveled (UK: 54 MPG; USA: 45 MPG).

Those with more aesthetic considerations in mind may now opt for two aftermarket packages: Black Style (depicted here) and Beats. The former comes with black side mirror caps, 18- and 19-inch large black rims, and a dark roof (optional). It also includes a black cabin trim with neutral white ambient lighting. Depending on your choices, the kit costs between €1235 and €1,575.

The Beats package adds a 300W audio system made of six speakers, an eight-channel amplifier, and a subwoofer. It also decorates the exterior and the cabin with flashy red accents. Prices vary between €720 and €850.
