The Cayenne has been redesigned in 2019. from front to back and now bears more of a resemblance to the 911 than ever before. Here’s what checking the box for Platinum gives you: most importantly, the beautiful 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in Satin Platinum, only available on this SUV; sport tailpipes in black and window trim in gloss black; seat belts in Chalk; door sill guards in brushed aluminum with Platinum Edition script; textured aluminum interior package; Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), which adds a swiveling feature to the LED headlights; Bose audio system; ambient lighting; panoramic glass roof; eight-way adjustable sport seats; and the Porsche crest embossed on the front and rear headrests. The 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 makes 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, and though it doesn’t seem like a big improvement on the old naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 with 300 hp and 295 lb-ft, the way the turbo mill’s torque hits in the low- and mid-ranges never left me wanting quicker acceleration. The manufacturer-quoted 0-60 miles-per-hour time of 5.9 seconds (or 5.6 seconds with Sport Chrono, an option equipped on our test vehicle) is about 1.5 seconds quicker than the previous model.
