Ringbrothers, a name widely associated in the automotive world with high quality restorations and engine swaps, has finished working on a one-off Ford Mustang 1964.5 Convertible, having invested over 4,200 hours of hard work into the project.

Going by the name of CAGED, this Mustang wasn’t just rebuilt from scratch – the truth is even more exciting. While an amateur might mistake it for a normal restomod scraped together from surviving OEM and continuation parts, it is actually a completely new car built with the original’s design and proportions in mind. Per Ringbrothers, the hubcaps on the wheels might be the only parts left stock here.

Everything else – the chassis and frame, the body and cabin, and the engine with the transmission – is new. The whole was finished in a glorious shade of dark red with a high gloss finish, white and black accents and a black cloth top. Things like Penske Racing RS Edition shocks and Baer brakes result in a modern and enjoyable driving experience. A 5.0-liter Coyote V8 under the hood helps keep things exciting by driving the rear wheels through a ten-speed A/T.

There will be no second Mustang like this in the world, Ringbrothers says carefully avoiding the subject of costs.
