Xiaomi produces 10,000 SU7 EVs in a month

Xiaomi has reported making its 10,000th SU7 electric sedan earlier this week. It took to Weibo to announce that it was able to reach this milestone in just 32 days.

While the slow production rates will take time to meet the demand, the company has to work on expanding its dealership network at the same time, so it has its resources spread. By the end of the year, Xiaomi expects to have more than 200 new sales points up and running in 46 major cities of China. It is also working on the first major software update for the SU7, which is scheduled to arrive later this May and apply automatically via an over-the-air update.

The corporation’s initial plans involved producing up to 60,000 SU7 examples in 2024, depending on the demand. With the backorder stretching several months now, the company has officially bumped its production target up to 100,000 examples. The production is still proceeding rather slowly, but it will get progressively faster towards the end of the year.
