1,180-PS Lamborghini Huracán hits a record 384 km/h at Papenburg 3000

Tire manufacturer Continental and German car newspaper Auto Bild have recently held a competition for some of this world’s finest tuners. It was attended, among others, by this Lamborghini Huracán Performance, which used its custom twin-turbo setup to hit an insane speed.

The car slams the wheels with 1,180 PS (1,164 hp / 868 kW) and 1,035 Nm (763 lb-ft) of torque, nearly double the stock 640 PS (631 hp / 471 kW) and 600 Nm (369 lb-ft). Attaining such figures in an already capable supercar is a feat of engineering, indeed. Another highlight of the build comes in the guise of Continental SportContact 7 tires, a state-of-the-art tire model with unparalleled grip.

On the Papenburg 3000 track, which is 3 kilometers or 1.86 miles long, the Italian coupe managed to cross the finish line at 384.12 km/h (238.7 miles per hour). Other noteworthy results were claimed by the Brabus 900 Rocket Edition (900 PS, 324 km/h), MTM 911 Turbo S (910 PS, 345 km/h), and 9ff 911 Turbo S (800 PS, 353 km/h). Some participants were less lucky than the others: MTM’s own Audi RS 6 broke down in the process.
