Video: Tesla Model 3 running crash tests in a secret lab

Tesla has released a video showing its battery-powered Tesla Model 3 withstand a series of crash trials in the company’s secret proving facility known as the Crash Lab.

It is worth reminding that this summer, Euro NCAP awarded the Model 3 an extremely high score for safety system efficiency: 94%. The US carmaker’s sedan became the first vehicle in the history of Euro NCAP to score as high as this. The Citroen С5 Aircross comes second with only 82%.

North American Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tested the Tesla Model 3 last month and was likewise very impressed with the results, putting the car at the pinnacle of the Top Safety Pick+ ranking.

The manufacturer claims that the superb safety is in no small way due to the Crash Lab. The place has remained shrouded in complete mystery over the past few years, but the video here provides a first look inside.
